Chat System
Channel Types
The Minecraft server contains a set of channels through which players can chat. There are two types of channels:
- Out-of-character (OOC) channels
- In-character (IC) channels
Global channels allow your chat to be heard across the world.
Local channels limit the range distance of your chat being heard.
Listening & Talking
Each channel has a short command you execute to talk in it:
- Method 1: /gswitches you to the global chat to talk.
- Method 2: /g hello everyonesends your chat in the global channel without switching to it.
You may stop listening to other people in a certain channel by typing /leave <channel command> or resume listening to a channel by typing /join <channel command>

Private Messages
You can privately message a player (out-of-character) or character (in-character).
To message a player (OOC), type /msg <username> <message>. You can also reply to a private message with /r <message>
To message a character (IC), type /bird <character name> <message>. This will "send a bird" delivering your message to that character, which will take an amount of time proportionate to their distance from you. Birds travel at 50 blocks per second.
