The Treaty of Bei Da Feng was a surrender agreement signed in 136 AG between the Earth Kingdom and the United Republic of Nations, bringing an end to the Chunying War. The treaty resulted in the complete annexation of the United Republic by the Earth Kingdom.
The war began after the United Republic, under President Yasu Kenshi, attempted to kidnap Earth Queen Destra based on fears of an impending Earth Kingdom attack. The failed attempt led the Earth Kingdom to declare war. Despite earlier alliances, the Sun Empire remained neutral, and the United Republic received no meaningful foreign support.
As Earth Kingdom forces advanced, the republic attempted to defend the province of Chunying through fortifications and planned use of land mines. These efforts failed after Earth Kingdom scouts located and neutralised the mines. The republic’s forces withdrew toward Republic City, allowing the Earth Kingdom to occupy most of Chunying, including territory from the Bian River to the Rhéng.
Facing imminent defeat, President Kenshi appealed to the international community for assistance, but no aid was provided. At the same time, Vice President Ginshi Yagisen declared neutrality and entered negotiations with the Earth Kingdom. In exchange for her cooperation, she secured a guarantee of appointment as Zongdu of Chunying after the war.
Before the fall of Republic City, President Kenshi died suddenly under suspicious circumstances, widely believed to be an assassination. With the leadership effectively collapsed and resistance weakened, the republic could no longer sustain the war effort. The treaty was signed at Bei Da Feng, upriver from Republic City, between the Earth Monarchs and the remaining leadership of the United Republic. Its terms formally dissolved the United Republic of Nations and transferred all its territory to the Earth Kingdom. Ginshi Yagisen was appointed Zongdu of Chunying, placing the former republic under direct Earth Kingdom administration.
The Treaty of Bei Da Feng marked the end of the United Republic as a sovereign nation and confirmed the Earth Kingdom’s full control over its former territories, concluding the Chunying War.
