Sheep rhino

The sheep rhino is a short and shaggy creature native to the alpine pastures and rocky borderlands of the Earth Kingdom. With the wooly coat of a highland sheep and the sturdy build and horn of a rhinoceros, the sheep rhino is a favored beast of burden among isolated villages, shepherding clans, and wanderers who traverse the mountain passes. While small in statue compared to other pack animals, its dense build and wool coat make it especially suited for cold, rugged terrain.

Sheep rhinos are known for their mild temperaments and extreme loyalty. Though not very intelligent by most standards, they form strong bonds with their handlers and are ideal for mountain crossings.

Culturally, the sheep rhino is a symbol of humility and perseverance, appearing in rural proverbs and mountain folklore. In many villages, caring for a sheep rhino is a rite of passage for children, teaching them patience, gentleness, and respect for the land. Their thick wool is sometimes woven into cold-resistant garments.

Though not bred for combat, their thick hide and immovable stance make them difficult to knock back, and their compact saddlebags allow them to carry small loads, making them ideal companions for long and snowy journeys.
