Cynder was Fire Lord of the Fire Nation from 119–120 AG. They was elected following the abdication of Fire Lord Ichida in 118 AG, which came after a brief conflict with the United Republic of Nations and Omashu, as well as the discovery of internal military conspiracies against his rule. Following Ichida’s resignation, Regent Lord Kaeru governed the Fire Nation until the election of a new Fire Lord.
In 119 AG, Cynder was elected and formally crowned as Fire Lord, replacing Kaeru and restoring centralized rule under an elected monarch. In 120 AG, Cynder abdicated the throne and named Grand Sage Konzu as their chosen successor. Konzu was subsequently crowned Fire Lord, marking the end of Cynder's short reign.
