Acalan Dainagon was the 60th Earth King of the Earth Kingdom, ruling during a brief and turbulent period in the mid-140s AG. He was the son of Sun Chief Azutoru Dainagon and a member of the Dainagon House, a powerful ruling family that temporarily replaced the Beifong monarchy.

In 144 AG, Sun Chief Emeritus Azutoru Dainagon formally announced the abdication of Earth Queen Marie Beifong in favour of the Dainagon House. Following this transition, Acalan Dainagon ascended to the throne as Earth King. The announcement marked a major shift in the Earth Kingdom’s leadership, with power moving from the Beifong line to the Dainagon dynasty. Acalan’s reign was short and politically unstable. His rule was closely tied to the authority of the Dainagon House, particularly that of his father, Azutoru Dainagon, who held significant influence as Sun Chief Emeritus and later Grand Secretariat.

In 146 AG, Grand Secretariat Azutoru Dainagon announced the death of Earth King Acalan. The circumstances of his death were not publicly detailed, but it marked the end of his reign and the beginning of another political transition within the Earth Kingdom.

Following Acalan’s death, Earth Queen Marie Beifong was restored to the throne. She publicly revealed that her original abdication had been forcibly imposed upon her by the Dainagon House. After Acalan’s death, Azutoru Dainagon apologised to Marie Beifong and invited her to return as Earth Queen. She accepted his apology and allowed him to remain in his position as Grand Secretariat.

Acalan Dainagon is remembered as a transitional monarch whose reign marked a period of contested legitimacy and political control within the Earth Kingdom, ultimately leading to the restoration of the Beifong monarchy under Earth Queen Marie.
