Avatar

The Avatar is the human incarnation of the Raava, a force of light and balance that exists to maintain harmony between the physical world and the Spirit World. The Avatar cycle began when Wan permanently fused with Raava during the Harmonic Convergence of 9,829 BG, creating the first Avatar and establishing the continuous reincarnation cycle that has persisted ever since.

The current Avatar, Wěi Zhū-Liáng (朱伟良), is an Earthbender Avatar who was formally announced and recognised as the true Avatar on 13 Zǐyuè 179 following a royal address. Prior to this, Yu-Ming Liu had been identified as the Avatar in 172 AG by Earth Monarch Huang Ling and former Head of Dai Li Raohen Huo alongside members of the Order of Earth Sages. However, this recognition was to be announced incorrect. In the royal address of 179 AG, it was declared that "the land had chosen a new path for Yu-Ming, and that she would no longer undertake the responsibilities of the Avatar". Wei Zhu-Liang was subsequently recognised as the true Avatar.

History

The Avatar is the only known individual capable of bending all four elements: water, earth, fire, and air. This makes them the most powerful known bender in the world, with abilities far beyond any single bender or nation. Each Avatar is born into a new nation in the established cycle and is expected to learn and master all four bending disciplines over the course of their lifetime.

The primary role of the Avatar is to maintain balance between the Four Nations, mediate conflict, and act as a bridge between humanity and the Spirit World. This responsibility includes preventing large-scale war, resolving diplomatic crises, and addressing threats that disrupt global or spiritual stability.

Completion of Training

When an Avatar fully masters all four elements and gains complete control over the Avatar State, they are considered "fully realised." The Avatar State is a powerful spiritual condition that grants access to the knowledge, experience, and bending abilities of all past Avatars, significantly amplifying their power and precision.
