The Adoria clan is a prominent family group with influence across the Air Nation, the United Republic, and the Fire Nation. They are descended from Air Elder Lori Adoria and President Polly Adoria.

The First Aiding Flame Treaty, signed in 141 AG between Sun Chief N’Jadaka and Fire Lord Laia, placed Sun Warrior lands under the protection of the Fire Nation during N’Jadaka’s absence and included the cession of Izo. A second treaty in 144 AG, between Fire Lord Inaba and N’Jadaka, reversed this arrangement by placing the Fire Nation under Sun Warrior protection during Inaba’s hiatus or until his heir, Prince Karim, came of age. This second agreement was later annulled by Sun Chief N'Lalu (Karim) upon his accession.
