Rakane

Rakane is an outlaw living on the island of Rakanet, which was named after them. Born in 121 AG , they quickly became known to the world as "The Rogue Rakane" after their attempt to drive colonizers from the Sun Empire.

Biography

Rakane discovered Rakanet during their world voyage and believed they were the first to set foot on its distant shores. The island appeared uninhabited, making it the perfect place to establish a haven for those who rejected society's rules and norms - a place where individuality and freedom reign supreme, unbound by laws or social structures. Rakanet would become the embodiment of Rakane's vision, a haven for criminals and outcasts, where true freedom could flourish.

To realize this vision, the Rakane began construction on the island, intercepting passing ships and using their materials, along with the island's own resources, to build their sanctuary. However, reports of these hijackings soon reached the Emperor of the Sun Empire. Seeing an opportunity to expand his vast territory, the Emperor decided to annex Rakanet. Despite Rakane's fierce resistance, the Emperor's forces overwhelmed them. The settlement was demolished, the forests were ravaged and the island's minerals were mined. As a final insult, the Emperor mockingly "pardoned" Rakane and named the island after them. Outnumbered but not yet defeated, Rakane fled to the Great Forest of Yi, but vowed to return.

In time, when Rakanet's resources were depleted and the island was long abandoned by the Empire, Rakane returned. Presumed dead and likely forgotten by most, they rebuilt what had been destroyed and put their energy into the creation of a new settlement and harbor for the completion of the sanctuary. Now all that remained was to free the island from the lingering influence of the Sun Empire and create the lawless world they had always imagined, where those who defy societal norms could rule their own lives.
