Sylara Vyralys

Sylara Vyralys was born in 149 AG and is the current Hearth Minister of the Fire Nation, as well as the 22nd Fire Lord, succeeding Hanako Hinotatsu and preceding Taiyomizu Hu.

Biography

Early Life

Sylara Vyralys was born on Noriko Island in the Fire Nation, raised alongside her siblings by her parents, Rykan and Syrani Vyralys. Though her family lived pretty comfortably, her childhood was shaped by the strict expectations of her father. He was a skilled firebender who demanded that both her and her brother train their bending from a young age. His harsh methods and lack of praise left Sylara always trying to achieve his approval. While her mother provided a much gentler, but more passive presence. The departure of Sylara's brother, Seito, shaped how she saw family. Sylara knew how it felt to lose her family, and that's why she cherished it so. With that said, she couldn't take staying in her house any longer and decided to make a life of her own, in Takemaru, sending money to her parents.

Later Life

During her later life, Sylara made rent by living paycheck to paycheck as a Commissary of the Fire Nation. She was always interested in helping others, and that's what the Domestic Branch was all for. Soon on her hard work ethic was recognized and she was promoted all the way up to being a Dignitary. Sylara also didn't just work in the Domestic Branch, she also was a Fire Sage. Unlike most, who pursued knowledge of the Fire Nation spirits, Sylara mainly focused on the spirituality and philosophy of Firebending, itself.

As soon as Sylara's life was coming together, her love for exploration took her someplace new. Sylara moved to the Foggy Swamp briefly, now living in the Hanging Village. Sylara's pursuit for knowledge still continued, and The Foggy Swamp Tribe had much to offer. Sylara studied the spirit, Nhieu Ma, as a Thánh of the Swamp. She completed a simple rite, and wrote a short review on it. Her love for exploration continued though, she eventually left the Swamp and travelled to Republic City, starting another important chapter of her life.

Sylara was quickly appointed Councilwoman and immediately became involved in the city's administration. During her time in office, Sylara helped establish an official farm and a soup kitchen, reflecting her care for all the people of the City.

The most significant relationship Sylara made during her time as Councilwoman is her bond with Noxus, a dragon that she continuously and intentionally encountered during her time in the Fire Nation. What started as simple fascination eventually blossomed into a deep friendship that is built on trust. After initially knowing little about dragons, Sylara took the time to understand not just the dragons' history and culture, but also to understand Noxus more before officially approaching him during this time. After a while, the two became inseparable companions, with Noxus becoming a source of comfort, and a member of Sylara's chosen family throughout the many changes in her life. Through this bond, Sylara underwent the Dragon Judgement, seeking to only strengthen her relationship with Noxus. Through that, Sylara's flames changed from orange to red, as a result of being enlightened.

Soon after, Sylara was fired from the Councilwoman position, and she moved back to the Fire Nation.

She continued to work, but this time as an advisor for her predecessor, Fire Lord Hanako Hinotatsu. Shortly after that, Sylara was appointed as the new Hearth Minister, the leader of the domestic branch.

A significant moment during her time as Hearth Minister, didn't actually occur in the Fire Nation. After being enlightened and becoming "attuned with her inner flame", Sylara and Noxus, along with several other allies, all participated in the process of ridding the Atu out of the swamp.

Reign

In 173 AG Sylara Vyralys became 22nd Fire Lord of the Fire Nation after 21st Fire Lord, Hanako Hinotatsu, stepped down. Sylara was chosen as the Next Fire Lord through vote via Supreme Council. Sylara received her formal coronation on the 28th of Xuyue, 174 AG. During her reign, she focused primarily on maintaining peaceful relationships between the Fire Nation and its allied nations, including the Foggy Swamp Tribe, Solandar, and the Water Tribe. Much of Sylara's attention as Fire Lord was directed toward the Domestic Branch, given that that's where her heart was at.

Post - Reign

Sylara's life got filled with many other responsibilities, as in becoming a new mother to her son, Saival Vyralys. And she stepped down in favor of Taiyomizu Hu to become the next Fire Lord, knowing that she couldn't give her all to the Fire Nation anymore. Sylara continued to stay on the Supreme Council, back again as the Hearth Minister, while also overseeing the Fire Nation Mastery Branch.

Personality

Sylara is a loyal and compassionate person with a deep emotional core. She is warm, personable, and naturally caring toward those around her, often making strong connections with the people she considers close to her. She especially protective of those she cares for and will try her best to ensure their safety and well-being. Sylara's experiences throughout her life, especially with Noxus has shaped her to who she is today.
