The siege was fought in an attempt to reclaim the tribe from [[Mikori Tona]]'s occupation and restore control of the Southern Water Tribe.

== Background ==
Mikori seized control of the Southern Water Tribe following the assassination of his adopted brother and predecessor, Naga Tona, and subsequently assumed the [[Water Chief|chieftainship]].

== Aftermath ==
''The aftermath of the Southern Siege has yet to be determined as the conflict is ongoing.''
