Chángqīng (长青) can be translated to “evergreen”, referring to something that remains green throughout the year and symbolizes the immortality of the patriarch of House Ling.

== History ==
Chángqīng was constructed in the years preceding the Hundred Years War, during the Hou-Ting dynasty, for House Hou-Ting to serve as their secondary residence. At the time, the estate consisted only of the main building and its two wings.

Following the fall of the dynasty, Chángqīng gradually fell into disrepair as the remaining fortune of House Hou-Ting was no longer sufficient to maintain it. With little value left in the neglected estate, it eventually came into the possession of Xiulan Hou-Ting, the youngest daughter of the family.

The estate was restored to its former state following Xiulan's marriage to Heimlock Ling. During their residence, Chángqīng was gradually expanded on a much larger scale, with additional mansions and gardens constructed further down the cliff.

Through the family’s connection to the Earth Sages, the estate has been the temporary home to several orphans throughout the years. In ??? AG, Chángqīng briefly housed the false Avatar Yù-Míng Liú.

== Location ==
Chángqīng sits on a cliff high above the town of Bei Da Feng in the Earth Kingdom. The estate is adjusted to the natural landscape of the mountain, with its mansions and gardens spread out on multiple terraces at different elevations.

== Layout ==
Chángqīng is considered one of the most exquisite estates in the Earth Kingdom. Because the estate was developed over several generations, its mansions and gardens arose one by one.

At the heart of Chángqīng, on the highest terrace, sits the courtyard of the original estate. It is the only symmetrical area of the estate, consisting of the main building and its two wings. These are the oldest structures on the grounds.

The guest house was constructed during the first years of Xiulan and Heimlock's residence, directly outside the original courtyard walls.

As the Ling family expanded the estate, additional mansions and gardens were constructed along the mountain below: the two mansions on the lowest terraces, accompanied by the largest garden in the estate grounds.

The estate contains numerous rooms, including private chambers, reception rooms, a dining hall, kitchen, bathrooms, and servant quarters. A grand ballroom is carved directly into the mountain beneath the original estate. The gardens contain ponds, planted areas, zen gardens, and a traditional gazebo.
